Stardom’s tag league for 2022 kicked off on October 23rd with a big show at Tachikawa Stage Garden in Tokyo the crowd figure for the show was good 2,034 fans in attendance.
After a pre-show match tag league action kicked off with Red Goddess Block action as We Love Tokyo Sports (Fukigen Death & Saki Kashima took on the team of Mai Fair Lady (Lady C & Mai Sakurai).
This was not a good match although it had a couple of humorous moments. Mai Fair Lady are a team made up of members of different factions and were arguing and fighting the whole match while We Love Tokyo Sports are a comedy team who use copies of the newspaper Tokyo Sports on their opponents. These things played into the end as Mai Fair Lady got hold of the newspaper but Sakurai hit Lady C instead of Fukigen Death and Fukigen Death rolls up Lady C.
The first match from the Blue Goddess Block featured Kawild Venus (Mina Shirakawa & SAKI) vs BMI2000 (Natsuko Tora & Ruaka). Bad start with BMI2000 jumping their opponents on the entrance ramp and completely taking any of my interest in the match. The highlight of the match was actually an enjoyable showdown between Tora and Shirakawa with some good action as both women had chances to win the match with Tora getting a near fall after a top rope senton and Shirakawa working on the legs and then locking in the figure four but then we come to the worst part of this match and many an Oedo Tai encounter constant interference and weapon shots. The suitcase is used to break up the figure four and then the DQ when Shirakawa and SAKI are choked by a metal pipe.
Wrestler Points
Mina Shirakawa – 1
Natsuko Tora – 1
I feel like both women should be acknowledged for their efforts individually although the match was ruined by heel nonsense.
More action from the Blue Goddess Block as 02line (AZM & Miyu Amasaki) faced off against wing*gori (Hanan & Saya Iida). An enjoyable fast paced tag encounter won by AZM with the Azumisushi on Iida.

The next match featured Red Block action as Karate Brave (Syuri & Tomoka Inaba) took on Black Desire (Momo Watanabe & Starlight Kid). This was a great match ****(Highly Recommended) with two battles seemingly going on in the one match firstly between Syuri and Watanabe who had a high quality contest with each hitting some good offense but probably the highlight was the showdown between Inaba and Kid who had an excellent showdown with Kid willing to use heel tactics inside and outside the ring but doing so in a way that didn’t detract from the action with the match never feeling boring despite a drawn 15 minute match with both Kid and Inaba throwing kicks just as the bell rang.

Some more Blue Goddess action up next as Mai Hime (Himeka & Maika) took on The New Eras (Ami Sourei & Mirai). A very good match this was a physical encounter with both teams trying to defeat the other with power offense such as shoulder tackles and lariats with Maika getting the win for her team after the Michinoku driver on Sourei.

Mai Hime (Himeka & Maika) – 3
The New Eras (Ami Sourei & Mirai) – 2
Some Red Goddess action followed as tag champs meltear (Natsupoi & Tam Nakano) took on Mafia Bella (Giulia & Thekla). A very good match this had some good action both fast paced and in parts physical particularly towards the end. Giulia gets the submission on Natsupoi to gain the victory for her team.

Mafia Bella (Giulia & Thekla) – 4
meltear (Natsupoi & Tam Nakano) – 3
The final tag league match from day 1 was from the Blue Goddess block as FWC (Hazuki & Koguma) took on 7Upp (Nanae Takahashi & Yuu). A very good match with plenty of action as the faster team FWC took on the big and powerful 7Upp. FWC had some chances towards the end but with some near falls and falls that were broken up but in the end 7Upp get a winning start to the tournament. Takahashi had delivered the Queen Bee Bomb but Hazuki had broken up the fall. Yuu came into the ring and pressed Hazuki out of the ring allowing Takahashi to pin Koguma after a top rope splash.
Points
7Upp (Nanae Takahashi & Yuu) – 4
FWC (Hazuki & Koguma) – 3
