Dynamite is coming at you live from the 1st Bank Center in Denver Colorado.
Bryan Danielson is taking on Ethan Page in the opening match. This was an excellent ***3/4 match which was eventually won by Danielson after a series of elbow strikes but Danielson gave a lot to Page here giving him plenty of chances although he did require the assistance of Stokely Hathaway a number of times do distract Danielson as well as MJF from a corporate box at the start of the match. Perhaps slightly too long for a TV match at over 16 minutes.
A great **** match followed with Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli from the Blackpool Combat Club defeating Top Flight (Darius & Daunte Martin). BCC started well controlling the early going but Top Flight took out the knee of Moxley which gave him grief for the rest of the match. Top Flight showed off some great tag team work against both their opponents using it to gain an advantage at times in the match and almost pulling off an upset. Darius Martin kicked out of Castagnoli’s neutralizer this angered the man from Switzerland who destroyed Darius with elbows. Moxley hit Daunte with a lariat inside the ring and the paradigm shift outside the ring. Darius tries to fight back but a massive European uppercut from Castagnoli puts him down for the three.
Hook destroyed a jobber in less than a minute but Stokely Hathaway along with Big Bill and Lee Moriarty came to the ring. Jack Perry attacked Moriarty putting him down but Big Bill was about to put Hook down with a massive chokeslam when Perry used a 4×2 to scare the big man away.
Game 6 of the best of seven series between The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)) and Death Triangle (PAC & The Lucha Bros (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix)). This was an awesome ****1/2 match with so many amazing spots and just awesome action with a rarely done finish. A falls count anywhere match this started backstage before eventually ending up heading towards the ring. Some awesome spots as everyone involved tried to give it their all and get the crowd into the match. Lots of big moves and some moments of danger with chairs and tables. A rare finish PAC had Matt Jackson trapped in the brutalizer with seemingly no escape but at the same time Omega hit the one winged angel off a stage through two tables on Rey Fenix pinning Fenix before Jackson could submit. The series will go to match 7 on the 11th January.
Anna Jay & Tay Melo defeated Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale in a solid match that went too long and had a screwy finish with a chair shot allowing Tay Melo to pin Soho. **3/4
Samoa Joe defeated Wardlow to retain his TNT Championship in the main event. Earlier in the show Joe had attacked Wardlow with a lead pipe injuring his knee and putting in jeopardy Wardlow’s chance of regaining a title he previously held. Wardlow bravely came to the ring but Joe controlled a large part of the match although Wardlow did mount a good comeback but was ultimately defeated. After the match Joe continued to attack Wardlow cutting off his ponytail and standing tall. Darby Allin hits the ring attacks with his skateboard and holds up the TNT title which is clearly the direction they are going into 2023. **3/4
Show Thoughts
An excellent Dynamite with three exceptional matches and not a single bad segment. A great way to finish Dynamite for 2022 and set up the early part of 2023 with a number of stories started or furthered during this episode.
