Vince tries to put Boston to sleep
In front of 14,000 fans and a TV audience on NESN the WWF put on this stinker of a show at the Boston Garden on this day in 1986.
King Tonga vs Pete Doherty
A perfectly fine squash match one of the better matches on this card.
The American Express (Danny Spivey & Mike Rotundo) vs Les Thornton & Tiger Chung Lee
Why this mediocre undercard match needed to go 12 minutes I have no idea. Ok I guess but boring.
Moondog Spot vs Pedro Morales
A theme is starting to develop on this show. This was mediocre and boring.
Harley Race vs Tony Atlas
Harley Race is washed but he saved this boring match from being awful which shows how bad Atlas is.
King Kong Bundy vs Junkyard Dog
Not only was this boring but the finish was awful as boring as this show has been the worst match so far.
Jake Roberts vs Ricky Steamboat
Finally a good match and the crowd responded by actually getting into it. Two talented guys putting on a good match but the finish was terrible. Despite the finish I would still go ***1/2.
Billy Jack Haynes vs Moondog Rex
Back to mediocre and boring with this match.
Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage
Generic Hogan title defense I had some fun with this but it wasn’t anything special. At least the crowd was into it.
Paul Orndorff vs The Magnificent Muraco
Fifteen minutes of nothing and then they did the worst finish of the night on a show with mostly bad finishes. This rubbish should never have been anywhere near the main event.
Overall Thoughts
Roberts vs Steamboat is good and the Hogan vs Savage match is fine, Outside of that this show should be avoided unless you want to put it on to cure a bout of insomnia.
