Stardom ended 2018 with a Christmas Eve show from Korakuen Hall which I would describe as good but not great with no matches here really rising to that great level and this show lacked the emotion of the Yoko Bito retirement show from the previous year.
The undercard was fine but had nothing special although Tam Nakano getting the pin in a trios match set her up as Saki Kashima’s partner in the tag title main event after Mayu Iwatani was injured and unable to take part.
Hazuki won the high speed title in a good to very good match against Mary Apache that had a scary finish with Hazuki over rotating on the shooting star press finish and landing on her head which could have had disastrous consequences.
Jungle Kyona won a four way match which also included Hana Kimura, Konami and World of Stardom champion Kagetsu with Kyona pinning Kagetsu in an excellent ***1/2 match to set up a title match at Stardom’s anniversary show in January.
Finally the main event with Momo Watanabe & Utami Hayashishita successfully defending their Goddess of Stardom Tag Titles in an excellent ***1/2 match against Saki Kashima & Tam Nakano which couldn’t quite reach the next level with quite a lot of moves and near falls but it lacked the drama and excitement to reach the next level.
Overall this show is one for Stardom completionists only it lacks a great match and it doesn’t have any major angles that make it a must watch.
